Are humans meant to sit down?

Human body is designed perfectly to freely stand, walk, bend, squat, lie down, roll, etc. We aren't meant to lean anywhere or have a specific object to support our body because every joint has its function to allow ourselves to stand and move freely without pain from the bottom of our feet.

Human body is designed perfectly to freely stand, walk, bend, squat, lie down, roll, etc. We aren't meant to lean anywhere or have a specific object to support our body because every joint has its function to allow ourselves to stand and move freely without pain from the bottom of our feet. If you attentively observe the babies in their movements, from the feet to its head, the body is perfectly aligned with balance as the joints bend and move freely back and forth, side to side. The babies, without learning, instinctively knows how to use their body in its most effective way. Squating seems to be the easiest thing to do when they do it. However, most adults feel tension in their body even when they are merely standing.

But what caused us to feel theses pressures?

Yes, we've engineered our body to sit in a chair.

But what's wrong with sitting in a chair?

The biggest root problem of all is that it brings a tilt in the hip, the center of our body. When the hip becomes tilted to one side, as shown in the image above, the blood circulation slows down throughout the body. Glutes and hamstrings are pressed, which causes them to become inactivated for long term, which then causes muscular imbalances. If there is any muscular imbalance in the body, the structure (posture) of the body changes and tension in the joints come as the body tries to bring its balance back. Usually sitting causes anterior pelvic tilt. And of course, this cause goes on and on in the sitting disease list along with its crooked posture, affecting negatively not only in the physical state, but also mentally as well. Many studies have shown sitting makes a decrease in mental clarity.

Our advice:

Stretching and strengthening hip mobility is strongly recommended as it greatly aids in bringing back its natural structure of the body. Nowadays, without going to a physical therapist or a chiropractor, the internet gives all its information of how to manage our body. We suggest looking up YouTube for hip mobility exercises and stretches, also checking up with pelvic tilt test to see how your posture is. In conclusion, having tension when we move is not how we were designed to be. We were not meant to sit in a particular way for such long period of time. Humans are meant to move and be free.

Do cruises provide condoms?

But there was bad news for those feeling frisky but failing to pack that essential for safe sex – 70% of cruise liners don't sell condoms. The company found that sexual encounters at sea is on the increase, but that cruise lines are failing to rise to the occasion.

No wonder one cruise line has adopted the cast of The Love Boat to do its marketing. A study of 200,000 cruise enthusiasts found that 80% of them have had amorous encounters on board ships. The study, carried out by cruise.co.uk, also revealed that most cruisers came prepared for romance, with condoms topping their packing list. The poll also found that one in five admitted to cheating on their partners while on a cruise – an astonishing 80 percent said their partner was on board at the time. The hanky panky is not restricted to younger people. Around 30% of those polled were aged 65 and over. But there was bad news for those feeling frisky but failing to pack that essential for safe sex – 70% of cruise liners don’t sell condoms. The company found that sexual encounters at sea is on the increase, but that cruise lines are failing to rise to the occasion. As well as failing to stock condoms, 80% do not offer the morning after pill. Some cruise lines do understand that the salt sea air and ocean waves can lead to romantic encounters. Royal Caribbean and MSC passengers do have access to condoms, pregnancy kits and lubrication, while P&O, Cunard and Princess have the morning after pill. News of the poll findings sparked s furious debate among cruisers, and anger at suggestions that it might not be true among the older demographic. Journalist Steve Price, who was a guest presenter on Channel 10’s The Project, told the audience and his fellow panelists that he had one memorable encounter many years ago. “I had sex in a lifeboat once,” he confessed. But he wouldn’t say who the lady in question was – only that the romance happened on a journey on the Med.
