Because of our 12-month season, if you’re an owner with Park Leisure, you’ll be able to do so all year round, too! Most holiday parks are closed in the colder, wintery months. However, with a year-round season, you’ll be able to enjoy Halloween, Christmas and New Year surrounded by on-park luxury! So, your holiday or caravan park might have a 12-month season, but can you live on-site permanently?

You must have a main address as your permanent residence, which your holiday home cannot be. Strictly speaking, your holiday home should be for recreational and holiday purposes. This doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy countless trips away — but it’s often not in a holiday park’s remit to allow permanent residence. If you did so, you’d most likely be in breach of your licence agreement. If your main residence is outside of the UK, you’ll probably be required to provide proof when buying a holiday home. Similarly, if you downsize to buy a holiday home, you’ll still need to maintain a main residence. Towing capacity is the maximum weight a car can tow legally. However, it may not be safe or comfortable to do so, especially with a caravan or trailer that has a large box-like profile. The towing capacity may be published within the handbook of the vehicle. It can also be calculated from the VIN plate, where line one is the maximum allowable mass and line two is the maximum trian mass. Simply deduct line one from line two and you have the vehicle towing limit. If it’s between 85% and 100%, be careful – only experienced caravanners should use that car to tow such a heavy van. But if the caravan is heavier than the car, then it is strongly recommended not to use it to tow that caravan. This calculation is known by experts as ‘outfit matching’.
