The prize advertised for winning Survivor is $2,000,000, but in the end, the total shakes out a little different. Survivor pays all contestants, or castaways, who make it to the final tribal council, and typically each receives around $10,000 for the reunion show. The third-place winner can tack on an additional $85,000 (before taxes), with the second-place adding an extra $100,000. The amount of the first-place winner was updated in 2019 from one to two million dollars to attract more applicants.

How does one win the game?

It’s all in the name of the game - to win the cash, you have to be the lone survivor, meaning that a player must avoid elimination until the end.

How much have past winners taken home?

Cinema Blend reported on the earnings of one castaway that has been featured in more than one season. Corrine Kaplan earned $45,000 during Survivor: Gabon and an additional $20,000 when she came in 12th in Survivor: Caramoan. The former figure was more than double because Kaplan made it to the final tribal council. If many have an experience like Kaplans, it seems that the show may be a way to make a couple of thousand dollars. The same website reported that most castaways walk away with anywhere between $12,000- $100,000. What’s interesting is that it doesn’t always seem like people are after the money, or at least the producers ensure that it does not appear that. Often people cite personal challenges in their daily lives that they hope to overcome, meet others, or increase their confidence, as reasons for them signing up - the possibility of the prize money is a plus to the overall experience.

FOX, which has seen viewership for The Masked Singer drop off since its initial release, pulled out all the stops for last-nights show. If the two celebrities were eliminated, or “unmasked” is any indication, viewers may be in for a surprise. Last night Eglish and Canadian actors, Eric Idle and William Shatner. Idle sang “Love Me Do,” which he says he received permission from Paul McCartney to perform.

Where do Survivor jury members sleep?

Ponderosa Jury members can eat, drink, and play at Ponderosa. If "Survivor" players last long enough in the game, they get to stay at a camp-like resort called Ponderosa to await the final tribal council as jury members.

But some competitors are still in "game mode" at Ponderosa.

Some players use their time at Ponderosa to influence the competition. Rickenbacker told Insider that he was still in "game mode" after he was voted off, so he advocated for his last ally on the island and eventual season winner, Nick Wilson. "I was still playing the game for him," Rickenbacker explained. "I was going up to Goliaths you know, trying to balance for him so that they would get his vote at the end." He said he even chose to room with a player from the rival tribe, Dan Rengering, to "to sway him to get Nick's vote." And even though Patel said she didn't think about "what vote went where," she was still "a little bit vocal with the other members of the jury" about her concerns with some players in the game. But other players said it's hard to care about the game once you're voted out. Four-time competitor and one-time champion Tyson Apostol said if players could "forgo your jury vote to go home," he'd choose that option "every time." Boehlke agreed that you care less about the outcome of the game "the longer you are in Ponderosa." "You want to hear the drama and what's going on, but you're so bitter about not winning," Boehlke told Insider.
