It’s all in the name of the game - to win the cash, you have to be the lone survivor, meaning that a player must avoid elimination until the end.

How much have past winners taken home?

Cinema Blend reported on the earnings of one castaway that has been featured in more than one season. Corrine Kaplan earned $45,000 during Survivor: Gabon and an additional $20,000 when she came in 12th in Survivor: Caramoan. The former figure was more than double because Kaplan made it to the final tribal council. If many have an experience like Kaplans, it seems that the show may be a way to make a couple of thousand dollars. The same website reported that most castaways walk away with anywhere between $12,000- $100,000. What’s interesting is that it doesn’t always seem like people are after the money, or at least the producers ensure that it does not appear that. Often people cite personal challenges in their daily lives that they hope to overcome, meet others, or increase their confidence, as reasons for them signing up - the possibility of the prize money is a plus to the overall experience.

Why did Caleb leave Survivor?

On the latest episode of Survivor, Kentucky's own Caleb Reynolds—who fans first met as a Houseguest on Season 16 of Big Brother—left Kaoh Rong after a heat-induced injury forced him out of the game.

"I will never forget the moment with Tai when he just had to try and kiss me. They showed a vey short clip of that, but the entire scene lasted a good 20 minutes. It was like that whole morning, we were all laughing, carrying on, and then he tried to kiss me . I was like, 'Dang, Tai, you just tried to kiss me!,' and he said he wanted the fish.Even later on, anytime Tai or I said something, everyone was just like, 'Caleb, I bet you won’t let Tai kiss you.' From that point on, it became like a joke. It was really funny. It kept us all in high spirits. You just don’t expect a guy on your tribe try to kiss you for no reason.I was in the Big Brother house with Frankie Grande for 90 days and not once did he try to kiss me! And there’s Tai out there, for just six or seven days, and he tries to move in for a kiss."
