The 2004 series brings its first two seasons to the streamer in November, with its spin-off The Hills, starring Lauren Conrad, arriving the following month. Because we’re still in the age of peak nostalgia, the streaming release of Laguna Beach on Netflix will surely bring millennials back to the good old days of reality television and relive the glory of every generation-defining moment. There will also be lots of questions about where the cast is now and the status of their friendships. While Laguna Beach positioned Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari as enemies (no matter how fabricated it might have been) due to their own personal relationships with Stephen Colletti, Conrad was super close to her best friend Lo Bosworth. The pair later lived together in Los Angeles and appeared in The Hills. For the first time in many years, Conrad publicly sat down with Cavallari and Colletti on the former couple’s Laguna Beach rewatch podcast, Dear Media’s Back to the Beach. The fashion designer got real about tons of behind-the-scenes details and shared what she and her high school bestie are up to these days.

On Nov. 8, Lauren Conrad appeared on Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti’s podcast to talk about their shared experience on the series and break down the misconceptions the media has run with about the trio’s so-called love triangle. When the trio discussed an episode from the first season, which found the cast taking a trip to Catalina, Conrad brought up Bosworth, who didn’t go on the trip as planned. Knowing the pair were an inseparable twosome into their 20s, Cavallari asks Conrad if they still talk. “I haven’t spoken to her in a minute,” Conrad shared. “She’s in New York. She’s doing well.” Even though the former best friends don’t appear to be as close as they once were on Laguna Beach or The Hills, there doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between them (at least none that they’re electing to talk about publicly, which is their right). Conrad has been running her successful LC Lauren Conrad (a nod to her high school nickname) line for Kohl’s since 2009 and recently launched her own eponymous beauty brand, and Bosworth entered the wellness space with her Love Wellness brand. It’s great to see both of these talented women killing it!
