Knives Out is a great, great movie, so don’t be fooled by The Last Jedi into thinking that Rian Johnson can’t make good movies. There is one scene where a man slits his own throat, but the camera cuts right away, so that you can’t see blood. Earlier on in the movie you see him dead with a puddle of blood on his shirt, but only for about 3 seconds. A character is also killed by being injected with morphine. There’s quite a bit of strong language including many uses of sh*t or dipsh*t, and two ‘F Words’ neither of which are said very loudly. There aren’t any words most public school kids wouldn’t know. There are some sexual references that could very easily go over your kids’ heads if they’re younger. There also ends up being positive messages about how it’s better to be a good person than to be rich, and not to play by somebody else’s game. Overall it’s a great movie for older kids and adults that you should definitely watch.
