Mahatma Gandhi once said “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” A person’s will is the key to survival. While physical strength is an advantage, a person needs the mental capacity to problem solve. Survival is attainable only when a person uses brain power to avoid panic situations. Most people desire physical strength, but mental strength is the most valuable in a survival situation.At any instant, people can be in a life-or-death situation. A common reaction to these type of situations is panicking. In “ The Most Dangerous Game ” by Richard Connell, it is clear that Sanger Rainsford panics when he is let out of the gates when he must endure General Zaroff’s wicked game. Rainsford’s adversary’s game is where he hunts the unlucky participant for three days on his island."His whole idea at first was to put distance between himself and General Zaroff, and, to this end, he had plunged along, spurred on by the sharp rowels of something very like panic.
