Read More »They say that the console war will never end. But, if you believe what Microsoft just said as the EU investigates its merger with Activision Blizzard, there's already a winner. If this isn't an outright admission of loss, we don't know what is. According to Microsoft, Sony is the "industry leader", which is to say that it has conceded and lost the console wars. Microsoft's reply comes as it tries to convince regulatory bodies of its attempt to purchase Activision Blizzard and how it's in everybody's best interests. In line with that, Microsoft has outlined the benefits if it becomes the new owner of Activision Blizzard as well as the best-selling franchises such as Diablo and Call of Duty, among others. Of course, Microsoft could just be saying this to try and make sure the deal pushes through. Microsoft responds to the EU investigation into the Activision deal, and manages to bring up Sony’s Call of Duty concerns https://t.co/xFjVJMWRmA pic.twitter.com/ACO9R0ACEn — Tom Warren (@tomwarren) November 8, 2022 Microsoft is facing much more resistance and scrutiny than it most likely expected in its Activision Blizzard buyout. Even though Microsoft's CEO has expressed his confidence that the deal will happen, it's still possible that it won't, until the dust has finally settled. Numbers-wise, the console wars aren't that much of a war at all. In terms of units sold, the PS4 (117.2 million) and the PS5 (25 million) outsell their direct competitors by a massive margin. Since it can't convince EU and UK to approve the deal based on its promise that it won't make Call of Duty, among others, exclusive, Microsoft is now trying to appeal to the fact that the "industry leader" shouldn't worry too much if in case Xbox ends up having Call of Duty all to itself. Speaking of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2 has set a new franchise record with its opening weekend.
The best-selling console of the second generation was the Atari 2600 at 30 million units. As of 1990, the Intellivision had sold 3 million units....

DC Trivia #27: Have you ever thought about what would be the IQ of your favourite superheroes? Yes, that’s apparently a thing. In this trivia, we’ll tell you how high is the IQ of one of the most loved superheroes Batman (thanks to Christopher Nolan). For the unversed, IQ also known as intelligence quotient is a total score derived from a set of standardised tests designed to gauge the human intelligence. Well, it’s time to know how smart Batman is. A trivia published in BuzzFeed states, “Batman’s stated IQ is an unbelievable 192, several notches above the famed theoretical physicist (Albert Einstein), who was estimated to have an IQ between 160 and 180. But hey, with all due respect to the Dark Knight, ‘Batman’s Theory of Relativity’ doesn’t pack quite the same punch.” Factinate backs this trivia by adding, “Bruce Wayne has an IQ of 192, beating out both Stephen Hawking (160) and Albert Einstein (160). Maybe Batman should start working on Bat-strophysics.” In the Dark Knight series, Christian Bale had played the titular role of Batman, and is much loved for his portrayal of the superhero.
