Read More »Treating water has been around for a very long time. In fact, water treatment dates back to 2000 BC. We knows this because the ancient Greek and Sanskrit (India) writings indicate that the use of heating water to help clean it. During this time, they also invented the pulley system. This is how they would relocate massive amounts of water from one place to another. Evidence of a wooden pulley system was found at Bar Hill Roman Fort. During 500 – 1500 AD the Roman Empire failed and enemy forces destroyed the Romans aqueducts which set back the water treatment development tremendously. John Snow, a British Scientist, ruled that the outbreak was from a water pump that was contaminated by sewage water. To prevent the negative effects of chlorine from occurring, homeowners installed water filters and shower filters. In 1903, water softening was invented as a technique for water desalination. In 1972, the Clean Water Act was passed in the United States. In 1974 the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) was formulated. The general principle in the developed act was that every person had the right to access safe drinking water. People have been treating water for a very long time. Thanks to technology, the methods have transformed into a quicker and easier to use water filtering solution.
