Read More »ARK: Survival Evolved is a great dinosaur-survival game. I have two twin boys who are both 11 today, and started playing ARK when they where 9 in 2018. They have puts weeks worth of hours into this game, and have NEVER played multi-player with others. In multi-player servers other people can kill you, steal your resources and attack your base IN GAME. As long as your kid doesn't touch multi-player below the ages of 12-13 it's fine. Your kid most likely learned every curse word in the book by ages 9-10, regardless of parenting. In ARK you must learn to survive by adapting to your environment. You need to build a safe shelter, get access to food and water, and scavenge resources such as trees and bushes to survive. They will also have to learn controls too, which may take a while depending on age. Yes, there is violence. No guts or gore, only visible wounds like gashes and blood on something that has been attacked. As long as your kid can handle that (YOUR KID, not you) they will enjoy ark sooo much. No nudity at ALL, besides from being in underwear when you first start out, which can be changed once you find or craft clothes with resources you gather from your enviourment. No sex or swearing as there is no story or dialogue in ARK, besides from a few journals you can find around the island which has no inappropriate content at all, just lore for anyone curious about ARK's background and story. What I think makes ARK: Survival Evolved so appealing to children is that they can do whatever they want. They can play with a friend, siblings or parent(s), build any kind of base in any size and shape, and they really create their own story for ARK. They can tame dinosaurs which my two children LOVE, by knocking them unconscious from 'tranq arrows' which harmlessly put the creature to sleep, and feeding them food as they wake up, and they'll be the player's dinosaur. Watching my boys ride a T-Rex while exploring the wilderness is so hilarious and amazing, they have so much fun. It can be fun playing alone as it is multi-player, and I say it IS for children 10-11+ despite the M rating, but it honestly depends on your child and you. If they (Your child) can handle stressful situations such as a dinosaur chasing them in the jungle, or when they kill a Dodo for food and it flops on the ground dead, they'll be fine. Blood can also be disabled in settings in you're really paranoid, but you still have to fight, and if you die you can just respawn anyways. Great learning experience, it's so hard to say everything without writing an essay, but kids will LOVE THIS GAME.

Sony has reportedly decided to delay its previous plan to discontinue PlayStation 4 manufacturing, in light of the ongoing supply problems which still plague PS5. PS4 manufacturing had been set to cease at the end of 2021, Bloomberg reported today, but has been extended throughout 2022 - meaning around a million more last-gen consoles will now be created. Sony's decision is largely due to the ongoing supply chain issues affecting PS5 chips, which have made stock of the newer console scarce even a year after launch. For those looking to buy a PlayStation console in 2022, Sony's hope is that by providing a cheaper alternative - and more importantly, one that is actually available - casual customers will be satisfied, and some stock pressure on PS5 may be alleviated. Keeping PS4 factories churning will also help Sony with "more leeway when negotiating with manufacturing partners for a better deal," Bloomberg wrote. A Sony spokesperson has responded to the report with confirmation PS4 would continue to be made this year, although the company did not publicly confirm the report of its earlier plan to wind production down. More than 116m PS4 consoles have now been sold worldwide, making it one of the most successful consoles of all time. (PS2, the best-selling console ever, shifted 155m.) Sony has revised down the number of PS5 consoles it expects to be able to sell this financial year, blaming chip shortages and impacts from Covid to global distribution. Meanwhile, several of Sony's upcoming high-profile exclusives will launch on both PS4 and PS5, including Horizon Forbidden West and God of War: Ragnarok.
