This new task force has been introduced to cater for the global demand in animation, visual effects, gaming, and the comic sector.This will enable Indian players in the sector to explore at least 5% of the $800 million industry and create new jobs annually. Under this campaign, the key focus will be on framing a national AVGC policy, establishing a national curriculum framework for graduation, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in AVGC-related sectors – developing skilling initiatives in association with academic institutions, as well as boosting employment opportunities.This way, the positioning of the Indian AVGC segment will be enhanced in the global markets. This initiative by the Government is just another step in recognizing the tremendous growth potential of the gaming sector and its ability to generate employment while promoting the game titles, under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, at the global level.There are a host of career avenues to explore in gaming, and India is no exception.
