With an attack rating of 44 and a durability level of 120, the Ancient Bow is quite possibly one of the toughest items in the entirety of Breath of the Wild, able to be a reliable weapon for Link that won't break anytime soon.

There might not be quite as many bows as there are close combat weapons in The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, but they're certainly fun to play around with. In this Zelda Breath of the Wild best bows guide, we'll be walking you through a complete list of the best bows in Breath of the Wild, so you'll have no trouble tracking them down as easily as possible. Should they be of use, we have plenty of other guides on Breath of the Wild, all of which can be found in our main guides hub page.

Zelda Breath of the Wild Best Bows

Just below, you'll find our complete list of the very best bows that we can find scattered around the vast land of Hyrule. You might have to journey far and wide to find some of these elusive weapons in Breath of the Wild, so make sure to stock up on provisions before you venture out.

Ancient Bow

With an attack rating of 44 and a durability level of 120, the Ancient Bow is quite possibly one of the toughest items in the entirety of Breath of the Wild, able to be a reliable weapon for Link that won't break anytime soon. The Ancient Bow can only be obtained from Robbie in the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, but only once the player has completed his quest line and obtained all the materials required to make the bow: Ancient Gear x10, Ancient Spring x15 and one Ancient Core.

The Bow of Light

A storied item that has appeared throughout the Legend of Zelda series, the Bow of Light is an item that is actually often wielded by Princess Zelda herself, but can be obtained by Link very close to the conclusion of his adventure in Breath of the Wild. Along with the Master Sword, this is the only weapon that can go toe-to-toe with Calamity Ganon, as it fires arrows of pure light. The Bow of Light has an attack rating of 100, making it indisputably the best bow in Breath of the Wild.

Great Eagle Bow

Used by the Rito Champion Revali, the Great Eagle Bow is quite possibly the best bow in Breath of the Wild for aerial combat, allowing the user to shoot arrows 'with the speed of a gale.' The Great Eagle Bow is rewarded to Link for recapturing Divine Beast Vah Medoh, and can be repaired by Harth the blacksmith in Rito Village should it ever wear out. The bow has an attack rating of 28, but this is bolstered by the fact that it fires three arrows at once.

Royal Guard's Bow

Despite having an attack rating of 50 points, the durability of the Royal Guard's Bow is extremely poor, meaning that firing the bow in quick succession will cause the weapon to rapidly degrade, so Link might want to make multiple trips back to Hyrule Castle for the bow.

Savage Lynel Bow

As the name might suggest, the Savage Lynel Bow can only be obtained through killing Lynel, or more specifically, the silver variant of Lynel. These Lynel are the toughest of the bunch, and can only be found in the northern reaches of the Hebra region. The Savage Lynel Bow has an attack rating of 32 points, and also has the ability to shoot three arrows at once, giving Link some additional firepower. Although the bow doesn't have a fantastic range, it does have a solid durability rating, so it should stick around for a fair few shots for Link. More info on the best bows in Breath of the Wild can be found in the video below. Only the most fearsome type of Lynel will offer Link a chance of obtaining the Savage Lynel Bow and as such, you might need a guide on how to take down all types of Lynel. If your Link is already kitted out with the best possible ranged weapons in Breath of the Wild, then hopefully our guide pages on the best melee weapons in the game, as well as the best shields found within Hyrule, can be of some use to you. Alternatively, you can return back to the beginning of this equipment guide, to relearn what we've already covered. Now that we've been through the best possible bows to get for Link in Breath of the Wild, you should have no problem dealing with enemies from a safe distance.
