A royal favorite from the ’90s is back.

Princess Diana’s blue satin mini “Lady Dior” handbag she carried to the 1996 Met Gala will be reissued for a limited run, the French fashion house announced today. The bag — which is priced at €5,000 (about $5,180) and available exclusively in Dior boutiques — was created especially for the late Princess of Wales to carry to her one-and-only Met Gala appearance, which was themed to celebrate Christian Dior’s impact on fashion. Wearing a navy slip dress with lace trim by John Galliano, who was the newly appointed creative director of Dior at the time, the princess carried a blue satin bag which was designed as a smaller version of her favored black quilted Dior bag — but the story doesn’t end there. The navy satin bag features crystal embellishments and silver hardware along with charms spelling out “DIOR.” Dior According to Dior, Princess Diana fell in love with the style when the First Lady of France at the time, Madame Bernadette Chirac, gifted her with its “Chouchou” bag in 1995.
