Why do men like lips?

Lead researcher Dr. Geoff Beattie says the study shows lips represent one of the most sensual aspects of a woman's body and play an important part in sexual attraction. He explains, “The research suggests that red lips and perceived attractiveness are still inextricably linked.”

First impressions count, especially when it comes to the laws of attraction. And as shallow as it might be, research reveals the facial feature men find most attractive on a woman: her lips. So when you meet someone new and notice his eyes, he’s actually looking at your lips. A study from Manchester University in the UK shows that in the first 10 seconds of meeting a woman, a man spends about half that time on average checking out her lips. Even longer if she’s wearing lipstick. Researchers showed men photos of women, some wearing lipstick and some without and they found that shades of red lipstick captivated men the longest, 7.3 out of the first 10 seconds. And pink lip color was just behind that with 6.7 seconds out of the first 10. Fuller lips were also found to attract the eye for longer.
