Sales training teaches us to be conscious about what we say, our body language and the way we sell. One thing that we perhaps don't think about enough is the effect that color has on our sales interactions.

Whether it's the clothes you wear or the color of your marketing, the colors you chose will have an affect on your prospects and customers. If you wore red to a sales meeting for example, would it increase the likelihood of you getting the sale? If your leaflet has green writing, what difference could that make when customers or prospects read it?

6. Purple

Purple is the color of royalty, which makes it perfect for lending a touch of elegance and prestige to your marketing materials. If you want to appear with some form of authority or seniority, purple is a great color choice.

Gold is likewise elegant and prestigious, but adds an element of power purple can’t match. In combination with purple or green, gold is a powerful color that symbolizes wealth and pedigree.

Orange is energy. It has powerful attention-getting properties, it’s fun and cool, and it makes customers feel as though they’re dealing with a cutting-edge company.

Brown, an earthy tone, is known as a comfort color, lending relaxation to customers. A grey suit with brown shoes and belt can be a popular combination.

10. Black

Black is another highly versatile color. It can be modern or traditional, exciting or relaxing. Used as a contrasting color, black most often adds drama to whatever mood you want to cast. Color can seem like a small detail, but it is proven by psychologists and marketing teams as a highly influential part of the buying process. Take time to think about how you present yourself, the colors you chose for different sales situations and how you marketing appears, changing the color could have a huge affect on your sales!
