Which Book Has Sold the Most Books Sold in 24 Hours?

There have been many big releases over the years that have grabbed the attention of most people. One that took over the world is Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code and it would have been a good guess as the top selling fiction book in a day. It did go on to sell hundreds of millions of copies but it isn’t the book that holds that record. This year, we have seen Colleen Hoover sell a ridiculous amount of books and her latest book It Starts with Us almost sold a million copies in a day. Her recent rise to stardom is going to ensure that she ends up as one of the best-selling authors of all time. She has the hype and a big catalog which has helped her chart multiple books on the best-selling list every week. If you were a teenager or an adult in the 2000’s, then you know the answer to this question. Some of the most popular books out then were the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. The movies made the books even more popular and stores would have thousands of copies of Harry Potter books as they would fly off the shelves.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has sold the most books in 24 hours The book that holds the record for the most sold books in 24 hours is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It is the final book in the series and it sold 8.3 million copies in the first 24 hours. Most authors will never sell that many books in their career and Rowling was able to sell that much in a day. That record will stay for a long time considering how books don’t sell that many copies in a month. The book was released on July 21st, 2007 and was selling an average of 345,888 books per hour. There is a reason why Rowling is regarding as one of the all-time best-selling authors. That year, Forbes estimated that Rowling made about $300 million. Talk about a great year. I remember when Deathly Hallows hit the stores and when you first walk in the store, there were hundreds of books with multiple stands. That was what everyone was here for. The crazy part is that this wasn’t even a bookstore that I went to. It was a Duane Reade and even they knew that all everyone wanted was the final Harry Potter book.
