Look at the date you were born to find your birthday number. If you were born on the 5th of the month, then your birthday number is 5. If you were born on the 28th (a double-digit number), then you add up the two numbers together (2 + 8 = 10) to find your birthday number.

Read More »If you’re a fan of using spirituality and astrology to give you guidance in life, then you might enjoy numerology, too. It’s the study of mystical relationships between numbers, letters, and patterns. As in most methods of divination, numerology is a tool that is used to gain a deeper knowledge of the self, others, and how we relate to the world at large. It can also reveal our true desires and what we need to do to fulfil them, as well as being a great tool to understand karma and what we carry with us from relationship to relationship. The origins of numerology date back to 569 to 470 BC. Greek philosopher Pythagoras studied the metaphysics of numbers and believed that every number can be reduced to a single digit between one and nine. He thought that by comprehending the single digit, we can understand the spiritual and magical vibrations of the self. The Kabbalah, a book of texts explaining Jewish mysticism and thought, uses the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet to find numerological meaning in a name. Each letter is aligned with a number, then added together. This technique was first used by Kabbalistic philosophers as a way to hide the text in the Kabbalah from those who were non-believers. Over time, it was used as a way to find your life’s path and role from your name. In ancient Babylon, a methodology called Chaldean focused on the vibration of the numbers one to eight. The number nine in Chaldean is holy and sacred, and represents everything one could possibly want in the world, as well as a connection with the divine. In this magical technique, we look to our date of birth and the numbers aligned with the letters in our name to find our destiny. Numerology was brought to the modern world by Mrs L Dow Balliett, an influential spiritualist of the early 20th-century, who wrote several books about the subject. Her student, Dr Juno Jordan, is responsible for making people aware of the single-digit numerological method we use today.
