That was fantastic.

Thanks for the article. It was a great analysis.

Manoj Joshi, Singapore

This is one of the most stupid articles that I have read on a news website. The writer assumes that all the people who would not match will be working hard during this time, while actually they would have been asleep. By not consuming electricity during the off peak hours, electricity board will actually lose billing to that extent. Please keep a check on such writers.

If all this facts are correct then there will be a high productivity and economical growth of India by banning International Cricket at least for another five years. We should learn lessons from China who encourages only athletics.

Murthy

It’s a good analysis, but do you think that this productivity will be utilized to build the infrastructure, or any positive ways? You must look at it from a practical ways in life and not only theoretical. It sounds good on paper but not practical at all

Kamlesh Raval, Mumbai

Excellent research, good India is out and this non-sense is stopped. Our children will not waste watching cricket but rather be more creative during summer holidays.

Preet Sonawala

It is good for Indians that we are out of World Cup. We will get good cricket in future only we follow the following rules. Ban all the ads of cricketers including the posters and the remaining period amount has to be stopped. Ban all the telecast of cricket programs on television. Take back all the awards given to them like we take out all the awards, medals given to Armed forces. Stop all the traveling allowances provided to them they have to return to India with their own money. Put ban five years on the players who caused this damage. Encourage the new players only on talent basis ( no political or other influence) and on salary basis. I hope the above will help us in getting good cricket in future.

Ramachary, Bellary

I think this is a lame attempt to console Indians. India's exit comes as a big surprise as they have been playing relatively well recently. I feel that instead of doing endorsements the India team should have done more to gear up for the world cup instead of going in on their high horses!

Dush, Singapore

I am expecting such news to be highlighted in the media you did if someone could do earlier it would be much appreciable. Thanks and please encourage this topic into the media so we Indians start thinking in the productivity line.

In my opinion this is one of the best articles that I have read on cricket so far. Well I think that another thing that emerges out of this match is that the Indian cricket team has shown what it is worth of... i.e. nothing. It is just a bunch of liabilities that we as a nation carrying on our shoulder. The stigma called Indian cricket team should be disbanded in the Caribbean itself. I would quote what Churchill used to say about cricket "I never play cricket because I have to take vulgar postures."

Tathagata, Delhi

Boss, its all media hype too, over reporting and other things, influence large audience to watch the entertainment-cricket. It’s we, the people to be blamed for such an addiction. Everybody added fuel to the fire and no doubt media played a major role, playing with the emotions of the readers/fans. Everyone wants to sell and make money out the event. It’s just a game. Why so much noise? I think we have sorted out all issues of the country. Boss, please see that you people are doing a fair role, not promoting anybody unnecessarily. If Bermuda has beaten Bangladesh, all your stories will be different. Please allow some amount of conscience in your reporting.

S Ramanan Rao, Bangalore

We Indians must be the smartest people in the world. The whole attitude in this report smacks of GRAPES ARE SOUR approach. Let us instead start accepting defeats and failures rather than rationalizing everything that goes wrong.

Rajesh Vyas, Mumbai

It’s great article! I hope let all foolish people in India understand this and stop supporting the cricket. We should always support the match in which result come in 1/2 hours, like Hockey, Soccer, and Tennis. Oh God, Cricket really sucks!

Rahul, Bangalore

It’s a very funny article but has good statistics. Sour grapes, isn't it?

Thameez, Dubai

Thanks for this great analysis. It’s high time that we Indians should really focus on our strengths and should look towards future making India as the top most economy in the world.

Bijay Achary, Mumbai

This is the real message and this is the fact. I strongly appreciate your thoughts. All must realise where we stand in this world. I wish people who ever reads this takes it very seriously and do something productively for them and for their family.

John Shelton, Hyderabad

The writer seems to be living in a fool's paradise with the attitude of a loser - whatever happens, happens for the best. When India could not make it to the team of eight, you think they would have the perseverance to chase the World Cup till the finals. People who are productive will be productive inspite of all odds and those who are not productive will remain like that - they need an excuse not to work how ever small. Face the reality. The fact is that Indian team was over-confident and under-performers. A match is won with hard work and not by living in the dreams. There is no affect of this on the economy - it comprises of many factors not just the cricket match.

Well said, I did this decade back, stopping watching a idiotic 8/10 hour game, players and others are earning money and we by watching loosing health, wealth and peace of mind. When they win, just see the highlights and enjoy, when lost forget it, don't bother. There is no true hard work just money passing game, our hard earned money is being pumped out to BCCI to ICC to foreigners etc. When there is no game latent, patriotic feeling in them, no fighting spirit. By playing they are making 100 billion people ashamed. Fight like a tiger and loose. Always depend on luck. See Americans, they are smart people, we are still ‘Lagan Media’ advertising emotional heroes

Baap, Hyderabad

Wow! What an analysis! But wasn't your website the one which applauded the Indian team for each won as if they were no lesser than GODs and on each loss, criticized till no end. Your readers definitely are people with IQ way below average. Your website can only fool such kind of people.

Chun Lee, Chandigarh

I agree with the article. It saved a lot of headache for people who don’t like cricket and for the patients in the hospital can rest peacefully. Best of luck for India Team for next World Cup 2011. Hope to see you carrying the Cup then.

Abhilash, Bangalore

Thank you for the excellent write up. I hope that our countrymen will realise the evil that brings in to our country and the millions of lives of our precious young citizens of our country. Cricket has become the lazy man's game; it is NOT the right thing for India now especially if she wants to be the leader in the future. What we need is a committed, disciplined and civilised citizens to honour the name of India, and not those millions wasting their precious time.
