While other models stick to safer, more familiar fashion projects, that just isn't Vendelali's style. Most notably, this summer she became the star of EA's new video game, Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar. Vendelali stars as the leader of Russia's infamous Women's Battalion of Death, a terrifying all-female combat unit used in World War I. We caught up with Vendelali to discuss the game, her new city and why it's important for models to take risks.

How old are you?

I’m 21 years old.

Where are you from and where are you currently based?

I’m Swedish/Brazilian, but born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Moved to La la land one year ago.

What is your occupation?

I’m a full-time student and a model.

Why did you decide to work with EA on Battlefield and what was it like?

It was all pretty random. I got a phone call from an agency I signed with when I was 18 years old, I didn’t even know I was still signed to them. All they asked was if I still had a shaved head, and if I did, the job was mine. No casting, nothing. My agency never told me what it was for, so I got really surprised when I showed up at the shoot. I’m the leader of the 1st Russian Women’s Battalion of Death.

Do you think it's important for models to take risks with the work they take and why?

Of course, I think that goes for everything you do. Nothing good comes easy, and you can’t just sit there and wait for things to happen, you got to make it happen.

What's the ultimate goal for you as an actress/model & and how do you hope to get there?

What do you like to spend your hard-earned money on?

I have a very strong love for sushi and I eat it at least five days a week — it’s a pretty expensive habit. I also love spending money on shoes, of course.

How would you describe your personal style?

Comfortable. I would rather wear a big t-shirt and a pair of boots, than a short tight dress with heels too high to walk in. I think being comfortable is sexy, and it’s not always about what you wear — it’s how you wear it.

How does LA compare to Sweden?

Stockholm and LA are two complete different cities. Stockholm is my comfort zone, but LA is where I grow as a person and as a model/actress. There’s a lot more opportunities here. I’ve actually been really lucky so far. Most of my DM’s are from girls that want to shave their head, haha.

What's next for you?

I’m just trying to take everything as it comes and to always be open to new opportunities. I’m graduating next year and after that my focus will be on acting. But for now, I’m just trying to figure out what kind of sushi roll I want to eat for dinner.
